Join us as we hear from community members on critical progress in home building across Rhode Island, and gear up for 2026!
Positive Change Happening Now
Rhode Island made it easier to build new homes in recent years and the changes are starting to bear fruit. Here are just a few highlights we expect to hear about at our Policy Kickoff Event:
ADUs (or granny flats) are helping older Rhode Islanders age in place while providing extra income to ease the cost of living.
Mixed-use zoning is helping revitalize historic Main Streets and urban corridors by adding housing where infrastructure already exists.
Lot splitting allows oversized parcels to be divided to better match neighborhood patterns, supporting housing that fits community character.
