Pro-Homes Lobby Day, PLUS all you need to know about this week’s hearings
Here’s how to take action and get more homes for Rhode Island:
Wednesday April 15th

Parking Reform(S2826) will be heard in the Senate Committee on Special Legislation. Letters should be submitted to Committee Clerk Malloy SLegislation@rilegislature.gov , and Committee Chair Sen. Felag sen-felag@rilegislature.gov, Sen. Kallman (bill sponsor) sen-kallman@rilegislature.gov. Or, you can take advantage of our templates on Action Network!
Be sure to submit before Wednesday, April 15th, at 12pm.
Today, arbitrary parking mandates hold back homebuilding and small business growth across Rhode Island. Let’s build more of the homes and businesses that we need while avoiding waste and respecting local character.
Our Small Lot Size bill (H8387) will be heard in House Municipal Government and Housing, along with a vote on the Speaker's package.
Legalizing homes on modest lots will create more affordable housing opportunities for young families and downsizing seniors while also helping to preserve Rhode Island’s farmland and forests.
This Thursday, April 16th . . .
we’ll meet at the State House to let our legislators know that the message is clear: we need more homes. Families are feeling the strain of rising rents. Homeownership feels out of reach. Too many of our neighbors are being priced out of our communities.
Even as momentum builds for solutions, Rhode Islanders are left on the sidelines of the decisions that shape their neighborhoods. On Thursday, April 16th, we're Standing Up for More Homes–Join us!
Also on April 16th:
The Senate will be hearing two of our bills: Conversion Incentive S3159, and Faith-Based Affordable Housing S2268. Be Sure to submit written testimony before 12pm on April 16th.
Faith-based institutions across Rhode Island own land and property that is underutilized and could be suitable for housing development. Allowing faith-based institutions to build affordable housing on their land can create new opportunities for much needed affordable homes.
A new residential reuse incentive program will help repurpose underutilized buildings as housing, revitalizing neighborhoods and creating high-quality construction jobs in the process.
